Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art (LCCA) is looking for a contemporary art enthusiast – artist or art historian, social or humanitarian field student, to join our team in Riga.
The Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art (LCCA) is the largest institution of contemporary art in Latvia that curates and produces contemporary art events of national and international scale. As of 1993, it has researched and curated contemporary art processes both in Latvia and abroad to provoke critical reflection on issues topical for contemporary society. We are widely recognized for our annual international contemporary art festival SURVIVAL KIT, regular exhibitions at the Latvian National Museum of Art, as well as Latvia's representation at the Venice Biennale, Manifesta, São Paulo Art
Biennial, Kochi-Muziris Biennale, Rauma Biennale of Contemporary Art, etc.

We are looking for reliable, committed and well organised person to join our team of curators, publishers, researchers and exhibition production managers. Depending on your interest and possibilities, your major role can vary from assisting a curator, work with a publication editor, take part in research project, or take a more practical turn at installing/take-down of an art show. Tasks also depend on the time of your visit and what are we up to at that moment. The duration is preferably 2 -4 months, hours and days are negotiable and depend on each project. Very good knowledge of both communication (oral) and written English are required, any other language is considered as a benefit.
Position for an intern is open throughout the year. All intern positions are unpaid at the moment.

For applying and completing a successful internship at LCCA, candidate must be familiar with events and processes of contemporary art world, be fluent in English, have good communication skills, be willing to learn, participate and have an open mind. Computer skills, knowledge of any image/video post-production programs is a plus, as well as interest in video and photography.

Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art provides a working place at our spacious office, located in the Art Noveau district of Riga City centre. During your internship, you will have unlimited access to our contemporary art library and archive, as well as different museums and galleries in the city. You will be meeting with different artists, curators, lecturers and other professionals, making new contacts and exploring Baltic contemporary art scene.
Our friendly team treats all colleagues and interns as equals, providing everyone with same level of trust and responsibilities, therefore you will be able to participate in staff meeting and discussions, attending art events and openings, and become a solid member of Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art.
