The EU project SOILSCAPE promotes creative small-scale projects to raise awareness of soil issues, bringing together art, creativity, and soil science. Funding is available for 12 sub-projects (FSTP – Financial Support to Third Parties), in which Austrian organizations and individuals can also participate.

What is behind SOILSCAPE?

Funding is being provided for 12 sub-projects (Financial Support to Third Parties, FSTP) in which Austrian organizations can participate.
These can be submitted at the local (€50,000), national (€100,000), or transnational (€150,000) level along three thematic strands:

Innovative communication
Artistic soil-related activities
Creative, participatory citizen engagement methods


Who can apply?
Applications can be submitted by individuals or small consortia (up to a maximum of 3 partners), including soil scientists, artists, photographers, LEADER regions, municipalities, CSOs, CCIs, and similar actors. Innovative and interdisciplinary approaches that combine science, art, communication, and civic participation are particularly welcome.

The duration of the projects is between 6, 12, and 18 months. The total funding pot is approximately €1 million.
