This Time Of The Year Again
A_Phan, Live Set
With his moniker A_Phan, Manuel Cyrill shifts his focus to the outer reaches of techno. Modulation
sources, tape loops, and field recordings become anchor points in his sonified alpine mountain wall, situated at the borders
between syncopated rhythms and intricate sound structures. A_Phan never sounds detached, but always remains grounded. The
element of chance that lends patronage to improvisation is the essence of a counter-movement that neither predicts nor attempts
to calculate the listeners. It’s an altruistic approach that A_Phan reveals, whispering through modulated tension: "Let yourself
fall!".
